Greetings from the Organizing Committee of APCON 2010..!!!!!
It gives us great pleasure to invite you all to the 59th Annual Conference of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists to be organized by Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad in association with Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists-Andhra Pradesh Chapter. The scheduled dates for the conference are from 9th to 12th December, 2010 and will be held at Katriya Hotel & Towers, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad, also known as the “City of Pearls” is over 400 years old. Today, it has developed into a city with a fine blend of traditionality and modernity. The city consists of the Old city which even now boasts of Nawabi culture and tradition and the new Hyderabad with its twin city-Secunderabad. The city is known for its historic sites such as the famous Charminar, Golconda Fort, Salarjung Museum as well as modern attractions including Ramoji Film City, Snow World, Hussain Sagar lake with its surrounding gardens. It is a hub of technology and has excellent centers of medicine, catering to large population.

Hyderabad is also known for its diverse cuisine which again is a blend of traditional south Indian food, Mughlai and Persian dishes. The city is also a paradise for shoppers especially for pearls, saris and bangles at both traditional bazaars and modern malls. The city is well connected to all parts of country by road, rail and also by air. The new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is one of the five best airports in the world according to Airport Council International (ACI).

The conference venue on Raj Bhavan road is centrally located with easy access to shopping and sightseeing.

The highlight of APCON 2010 is the incorporation of several parallel CMEs during the main conference. The organizing committee is making all efforts to get renowned international and national speakers to cover several topics on histopathology, hematology, cytology and microbiology.

The weather in the month of December is pleasant and is conducive for travel and sightseeing. Every effort will be made to make your stay comfortable and memorable both scientifically and socially. Looking forward to seeing you and your family in Hyderabad.
